Discover more about Pha Tak Suea

Wat Pha Tak Suea, nestled in the mountainous region of Nong Khai province, is a unique destination offering both spiritual solace and breathtaking scenery. Originally a retreat for Buddhist meditation, the temple has gained popularity for its skywalk, opened in 2016, which provides visitors with unparalleled views of the Mekong River and the landscapes of Laos. The temple itself is a place of worship, with intricate designs and vibrant colors that reflect the rich heritage of the area. Visitors can explore the temple grounds, pay their respects to the Buddha statues, and admire the fine paintings depicting the Buddha's life. A Naga staircase leads to a cruciform ordination hall, housing the principal Buddha image in a meditation posture. The highlight of Wat Pha Tak Suea is undoubtedly the skywalk. This 16-meter U-shaped platform extends from the cliff edge, offering a 360-degree view of the surrounding landscape. The glass floor provides a thrilling experience as you gaze down at the vast open space below. In winter, the area is often covered in mist, creating a surreal experience of walking on clouds. The skywalk can accommodate up to 20 people at a time, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
