If you are driving a car, start from the center of Phongsaly town. Head west on Route 1B for approximately 12 kilometers until you reach the turn-off for Muang Ngoy. Turn left onto Route 1B and continue for about 10 kilometers. Follow the signs directing you towards Muang Ngoy. Once you arrive in Muang Ngoy, look for signs to Pha Nam Lod, which is located just outside the village, approximately 2 kilometers to the north. Parking is available near the entrance.

To reach Pha Nam Lod via public transport, take a local bus or tuk-tuk from Phongsaly town to Muang Ngoy. The journey typically takes about 30 to 45 minutes, with buses departing from the central bus station in Phongsaly. The fare is around 20,000 to 30,000 LAK (Lao Kip). Upon arriving in Muang Ngoy, you can either walk to Pha Nam Lod, which is about a 30-minute trek, or hire a local tuk-tuk for around 10,000 to 20,000 LAK to take you directly to the site.
