Tuk-tuk
From Champasak town, hire a tuk-tuk for the 10km journey to Vat Phou. Negotiate the fare beforehand, with a typical cost of 20,000 LAK per person. The ride offers scenic views of the surrounding countryside. The tuk-tuk can drop you off at the entrance of Vat Phou.
Motorcycle
Rent a motorcycle in Pakse or Champasak and drive to Vat Phou. From Pakse, cross the Lao-Nippon bridge over the Mekong, continue on route 16W, and turn left after the first checkpoint. Follow the signs to Vat Phou, approximately 45 km from Pakse. Motorcycle rentals cost around 80,000 LAK per day. Parking at Vat Phou costs 5,000 LAK.
Walking
From the Vat Phou entrance, an electric car service (included in the entrance fee) will take you closer to the temple. From the drop-off point, it's a short walk to the base of the hill and the main temple complex. The path is well-maintained but involves some steps.
