Getting there

Car

If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Vang Vieng. Head southeast on the main road (Route 13) towards the direction of Tham Chang. Continue driving for about 4 kilometers until you see signs for Tham Chang. There is a small parking area at the entrance of the cave. Be aware that the road may be narrow and winding in some parts.

Public Transportation

For those taking public transportation, look for a local songthaew (shared taxi). These can be found near the main bus station in Vang Vieng. Inform the driver that you want to go to Tham Chang. The ride should cost around 10,000 LAK per person and may take approximately 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. The songthaew will drop you off at the entrance of the cave.

Walking

If you're feeling adventurous and are staying close to the center of Vang Vieng, you can walk to Tham Chang. From the town center, follow Route 13 south until you reach the entrance of the cave which is about 4 kilometers away. Please wear comfortable shoes as the path may be uneven in some areas.

Bicycle Rental

Another great option is to rent a bicycle. Many guesthouses in Vang Vieng offer bicycle rentals for about 20,000 LAK per day. Cycle southeast along Route 13 for about 4 kilometers until you reach Tham Chang. This is a scenic route, and you can enjoy the beautiful landscape along the way.
