Getting There

  • Bus

    From Pakse, take a local bus to Nakasong. The bus ride will cost around 30,000 LAK and takes approximately 2-3 hours. Once you arrive in Nakasong, head to the ferry terminal. The ferry to Don Det costs about 15,000 LAK and takes 30 minutes. Make sure to check the ferry schedule upon arrival as the last ferry usually leaves in the late afternoon.

    If you’re already in Si Phan Don, you can hire a tuk-tuk to take you to the ferry terminal in Nakasong. The fare is typically around 50,000 to 100,000 LAK depending on your starting point and negotiation skills. Once at the terminal, purchase a ticket for the ferry to Don Det for 15,000 LAK.

  • Motorbike Rental

    For a more adventurous option, you can rent a motorbike in Si Phan Don for about 60,000 LAK per day. Ride to Nakasong and park your bike at the ferry terminal. After parking, buy a ferry ticket for 15,000 LAK to cross to Don Det. Ensure you have a valid driving license and wear a helmet while riding.
