Walking
From the center of Vientiane, such as That Dam, head east on Rue Setthathirath, then turn left onto Rue Dongpalane. Continue until you reach Khouvieng Road, then turn right. The COPE Visitor Centre will be on your right, within the Centre for Medical Rehabilitation (CMR) grounds. The walk is approximately 2.5 km and takes about 30-35 minutes.
Public Transport
Vientiane's public bus system is an option, with many routes originating from the Central Bus Station near the Morning Market (Talat Sao). Check local bus routes and schedules for the most convenient option to Khouvieng Road. Bus fares range from 5,000 to 15,000 LAK, payable in cash to the conductor.
Taxi/Tuk-tuk
Taxis and tuk-tuks are readily available throughout Vientiane. Negotiate the fare before starting your journey. A typical tuk-tuk ride from the city center to COPE should cost between 25,000-30,000 LAK. Taxis are metered, with a base fare of around 43,655 LAK (€1.90) and a price per km of 33,315 LAK (€1.45). A 5km ride would cost approximately 9.5 USD.
