Getting There

• Bus

  If you are in Vientiane, take a local bus from the Southern Bus Station to Vang Vieng. The bus fare is around 50,000 LAK (approximately $5 USD). Buses depart regularly throughout the day, typically every hour. The journey takes about 4 to 5 hours depending on traffic. Upon arrival in Vang Vieng, you will be dropped off at the main bus station. From there, you can take a tuk-tuk for about 20,000 LAK (around $2 USD) directly to Mad Monkey Vang Vieng, which is located at 20/1 Ban Vang Vieng.

• Private Car

  If you are traveling by private car from Vientiane, take Route 13 North towards Vang Vieng. The drive is approximately 150 kilometers and takes about 3 to 4 hours. Follow the signs to Vang Vieng. Once you reach the town, navigate to Ban Vang Vieng and look for the address 20/1 Ban Vang Vieng. Parking is available near Mad Monkey Vang Vieng.

• Shared Taxi

  You can also opt for a shared taxi (songthaew) from Vientiane to Vang Vieng. Shared taxis leave from the main taxi station in Vientiane and cost around 70,000 LAK (approximately $7 USD) per person. The journey takes about 3 to 4 hours. Once you reach the Vang Vieng taxi station, hire a tuk-tuk for around 20,000 LAK (about $2 USD) to take you to Mad Monkey Vang Vieng.

• Motorbike Rental

  For the adventurous, renting a motorbike in Vientiane is an option. Rental costs around 80,000 - 150,000 LAK per day (approximately $8 - $15 USD). Follow Route 13 North to Vang Vieng. Ensure to wear a helmet and drive carefully, as roads can be winding and challenging. Once you arrive in Vang Vieng, head towards 20/1 Ban Vang Vieng to reach Mad Monkey.
