Getting There

Walking

From the center of Vang Vieng, head north on the main road (Sengsavang Road) towards the direction of the Nam Song River. Continue walking until you reach the bridge over the river. Cross the bridge, and after crossing, take a left turn on the road that follows the river. Keep walking along this road for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the fork in the road. Take the right path, which will lead you towards Ban Nampè. After approximately 1 kilometer, you will see a sign for Pha Boun Viewpoint. Follow the signs, and after a short uphill walk, you will arrive at the viewpoint.
Bicycle rental

Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Vang Vieng. Start by heading north on Sengsavang Road, towards the Nam Song River. Cross the bridge over the river and then take a left on the road running along the riverbank. Continue for about 1.5 kilometers. When you reach the fork in the road, take the right path leading to Ban Nampè. Ride for another kilometer, and you will see signs for Pha Boun Viewpoint. Park your bicycle at the base of the viewpoint and enjoy the short hike up to the top.
Tuk-Tuk

Find a tuk-tuk stand in the center of Vang Vieng. Inform the driver that you want to go to Pha Boun Viewpoint. It’s a popular destination, so they should know where it is. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. The driver will drop you off at the base of the viewpoint. From there, follow the short trail to hike up to the viewpoint.
