Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from the capital city of Vientiane, take Route 13 North towards Vang Vieng. The distance is approximately 150 kilometers and will take around 3-4 hours depending on traffic. Once in Vang Vieng, keep an eye out for local signage indicating Than None Cave, or use a GPS navigation app with the coordinates 18.9470906, 102.4341356. Parking is available near the cave entrance.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  From Vientiane, you can take a bus to Vang Vieng from the Southern Bus Station (Nam Phu). Buses leave regularly throughout the day and cost between 50,000 to 75,000 LAK (approximately $5-$7). The journey will take around 4-5 hours. Upon arrival in Vang Vieng, you can either take a tuk-tuk or rent a bicycle to reach Than None Cave. The location is about 7 kilometers from the town center. Tuk-tuks typically charge around 20,000 to 30,000 LAK (approximately $2-$3) for the ride.

• Tuk-Tuk

  If you are already in Vang Vieng, you can hire a tuk-tuk to take you directly to Than None Cave. Negotiate the fare before starting your journey; it should be around 20,000 to 30,000 LAK (approximately $2-$3) for a one-way trip. Make sure to provide the driver with the coordinates (18.9470906, 102.4341356) or ask them to take you to the cave entrance.

• Bike Rental

  For a more adventurous approach, consider renting a bicycle in Vang Vieng. Many shops rent bikes for about 20,000 LAK (approximately $2) per day. From the town center, head northwest on the main road towards Than None Cave. It is about 7 kilometers away and the ride should take around 30 minutes. Follow the main road, keeping an eye out for signs leading to the cave.
