Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Vientiane City, take Route 13 north towards Vang Vieng. The drive takes approximately 3-4 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Once you reach Vang Vieng, follow the signs to the Blue Lagoon area. After entering Vang Vieng, continue straight until you reach the junction with Route 13B. Turn right onto Route 13B and follow the signs for Blue Lagoon 2. The lagoon is located approximately 7 km from the town center. There is usually a small parking fee (around 10,000 LAK) for parking in the area.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Blue Lagoon 2 via public transportation, take a bus or minivan from Vientiane to Vang Vieng. Departures are frequent from the central bus station, and the journey takes about 3-4 hours. Upon arrival in Vang Vieng, you can either rent a bicycle or take a tuk-tuk to Blue Lagoon 2. The tuk-tuk ride costs approximately 30,000 to 50,000 LAK per person, depending on the number of passengers and negotiation skills. The ride will take around 15-20 minutes. Let the driver know that you want to go to Blue Lagoon 2, and they will take you directly there.

• Bicycle Rental

  For the more adventurous traveler, renting a bicycle in Vang Vieng is a great option. Once you arrive in Vang Vieng, you can rent a bicycle for about 20,000 to 50,000 LAK per day, depending on the bike's condition. From the town center, head west towards Route 13B and follow the same route as the tuk-tuks. The ride to Blue Lagoon 2 is approximately 7 km, and it should take around 30-40 minutes. Be sure to carry water and wear sunscreen, as the sun can be intense.
