Travel Guide to Daugava

Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car to Daugava in the Latgale Suburb of Riga, start from the city center. Head southeast on Brivibas iela (A6) and follow the signs toward the Daugava River. After about 5 km, take the exit toward Pārdaugava. Continue straight onto Daugavgrīvas iela, which will lead you along the riverbank. Look for parking options near the river; there are several designated spaces available along the waterfront. Please note that parking may incur a fee, typically around €1-€2 per hour.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  To reach Daugava using public transportation, take the bus from the Riga city center. Use the 22 or 24 bus routes that head toward the Latgale Suburb. You can catch these buses from the Central Bus Station (Autoosts) or any nearby bus stop. The ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to buy a ticket before boarding (cost around €1.15) from a kiosk or machine. Get off at the 'Daugava' stop and walk toward the river, which is just a short 5-minute walk from there.

• Public Transportation - Tram

  Another option is to take the tram. Board tram number 7 or 9 from the city center and travel toward the 'Daugavgrīva' or 'Pārdaugava' direction. The journey will take about 25 minutes. Get off at the 'Daugava' stop. From there, it's a brief 10-minute walk to the riverbank. Tram tickets can be purchased from machines or kiosks for about €1.15.

• Walking

  If you're already in the vicinity of the Daugava River in Latgale Suburb, walking to the river is a pleasant option. Simply follow the local streets leading toward the river; paths are well-marked. Depending on where you are, it should take no more than 15-20 minutes of walking.
