Our day trip with Janis was the perfect way to explore the beautiful area of Turaida and Sigulda. We visited several different places without feeling at all rushed. Janis is a very friendly and knowledgeable guide, sharing a fascinating mix of historical and mythical information. I would thoroughly recommend his tours (and Riga beer cellar recommendations).

Sigulda and Turaida Castles Tour. Small Group.
A very enjoyable tour.
Excellent tour, with a great guide. The area around these castles is stunning, and I enjoyed my visit. Great engagement by Krista @ Latvian Gem. They had some dropouts at the last minute but still ran the tour just for me.

Private Full-Day Hiking Tour in Sigulda and Gauja National Park
Magical experience! Something you'll never forget!
We visited during the 3rd week of February 2026. Rihard has been an outstanding guide: knowledgeable, very kind and patient, always ready to help and answer our questions. His dogs are amazing and very well behaved. Our children (10 and 12) and we will never forget the thrill of the husky sledding and the fantastic walk in the woods and over the frozen lake. We HIGHLY recommend Discover Latvia!
