The Ķemeri Water Tower, located in Jūrmala, is more than just a functional structure; it's a piece of Latvia's industrial heritage and a symbol of the town. Constructed in 1929 by architect Frīdrihs Skujiņš, the tower originally served to provide both mineral and drinking water to the Ķemeri resort. Today, it continues to house a 300m3 drinking water reservoir while also functioning as a popular tourist attraction. The tower's architecture is a blend of classical design with a functional purpose. Standing at 42 meters, it features two viewing platforms offering views of the surrounding Ķemeri National Park and the Gulf of Riga. The tower went through extensive renovation and reopened to visitors in 2021. Inside, visitors can explore exhibitions detailing the history of the Ķemeri resort and the tower itself. The exhibitions also highlight prominent figures associated with the area. The climb to the top involves narrow and steep stairs, and reaching the rooftop requires climbing through a hatch, making it less accessible for some.
