Getting There

  • Car

    From the main entrance of Pape Nature Reserve, head northeast on the main road, following the signs towards Dunikas pagasts. After approximately 10 kilometers, you will reach a fork in the road. Take the left fork, continuing on the Unnamed Rd. Drive for another 5 kilometers, and you will see a sign for Dunika Bog on your right. There is a small parking area available for visitors.

  • Public Transportation

    If you are using public transportation, take a bus from Pape to the nearest town, which is Dunikas pagasts. Buses may run infrequently, so check the schedule in advance. Once you arrive in Dunikas pagasts, you will need to walk approximately 3 kilometers along the Unnamed Rd towards Dunika Bog. Look for a sign directing you to the bog, and follow the path to the parking area.

  • Walking

    If you are already within Pape Nature Reserve and prefer to walk, you can trek from the reserve towards Dunika Bog. Start from the Visitor Center and head northeast along the designated walking trails. This route is approximately 8 kilometers long and will take you through beautiful natural scenery. Follow the trail markers that guide you towards Dunikas pagasts, and eventually, you will reach Dunika Bog. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and carry water with you.
