Public Transport
If you are starting from the Central Railway Station (Centrālā stacija), exit the station and head to the tram stop located just outside. Take tram number 1 or 2 (both heading towards 'Jūrmala' or 'Pārdaugava'). Ride for 3 stops and get off at 'Bastejkalna' stop. From there, walk straight on Basteja bulvāris until you reach the intersection with Smilšu iela. Turn left onto Smilšu iela, and you will find the Latvian War Museum at number 20 on your right.
Walking
If you are near the Freedom Monument, which is a central landmark in Riga, walk down Brīvības bulvāris towards the Old Town. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Smilšu iela. Turn right onto Smilšu iela, and you will see the Latvian War Museum at number 20 on your left. The walk should take about 10 minutes.
Public Transport
From the Riga Old Town area, head to the nearest bus stop, 'Rātslaukums'. Take bus number 22 towards 'Mežaparks'. After 3 stops, get off at 'Smilšu iela'. Walk straight ahead, and you will find the Latvian War Museum at 20 Smilšu iela.
Walking
If you are at the Latvian National Opera, exit the building and head towards the canal (Kronvalda park). Walk south along the canal until you reach Basteja bulvāris. Turn left and continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Smilšu iela. Turn left onto Smilšu iela, and the museum will be on your right at number 20. This walk should take approximately 15 minutes.
