Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start by heading to the main entrance of Al Shouf Cedar Nature Reserve, located in the town of Maaser El Chouf. From there, follow the signs towards the Cedars Forest. Take the road towards Khalwat. As you drive, keep an eye out for the signs indicating the Cedars Forest. The coordinates are approximately 33.8261331 latitude and 35.7520005 longitude. Parking is available near the forest entrance, but be aware that there may be a small parking fee (approximately 5,000 LBP).

  • Public Transportation

    If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from Beirut to Maaser El Chouf. Buses leave regularly from the Cola area in Beirut. The fare is approximately 7,000 LBP. Once you arrive in Maaser El Chouf, you can take a shared taxi (service) towards the Cedars Forest. The service taxi will cost around 10,000 LBP per person. Inform the driver you are heading to the Cedars Forest, and they will drop you off at the entrance. From there, it's a short walk to the main area of the forest.

  • Walking

    If you are already within walking distance in Al Shouf Cedar Nature Reserve, follow the marked trails that lead towards the Cedars Forest. The trails are generally well-maintained, and you will see signs guiding you along the way. It should take you about 30-45 minutes on foot, depending on your starting point within the reserve.
