Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Anjar, head southeast on the main road (Beirut-Damascus Highway). Walk approximately 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with the road leading towards the Aammiq Wetland. Look for signs that indicate the direction to the wetland. Turn left onto this road and continue walking for about 2 kilometers. You will pass by several local farms and fields. Keep an eye out for the Aammiq Wetland signs as you approach the area. After about 2 kilometers, the wetland entrance will be on your right.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer biking, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Anjar. Start at the central plaza and follow the same route as the walking directions. The route is relatively flat and suitable for cycling. After 1 kilometer on the Beirut-Damascus Highway, take a left at the intersection leading to Aammiq Wetland. Continue cycling for another 2 kilometers until you reach the wetland entrance on your right. This route offers a pleasant ride with scenic views of the countryside.

  • Public Transportation

    While there is no direct public transportation to Aammiq Wetland, you can take a local minibus from the Anjar central station to the nearest town, Kfarzabad. Once you arrive in Kfarzabad, you can ask locals for directions to Aammiq Wetland, which is approximately 3 kilometers away. If you are comfortable walking or getting a taxi from Kfarzabad, that will take you to the wetland entrance. The minibus ride should take around 15-20 minutes.
