Perched atop Tel Chiha hill, overlooking the city of Zahle and the Beqaa Valley, stands Our Lady of Zahle, a prominent Marian shrine and a testament to faith and artistry. The shrine is crowned by a striking 10-meter-high bronze statue of the Virgin Mary, created by Italian artist Pierroti. The statue rests on a 54-meter-high tower clad in white marble, making it visible from across Zahle and the surrounding valley. In 1958, Bishop Euthym, driven by his devotion to Our Lady, initiated the construction of this shrine. Although delayed by the Lebanese Civil War, it was finally inaugurated in May 2005 after extensive restoration. Visitors can take an elevator to the top of the tower for sweeping views of the red-roofed city and the fertile Bekaa Valley. The tower's base houses a small chapel that can accommodate around 100 people. Our Lady of Zahle is more than just a religious site; it's a cultural landmark that embodies the spirit of Zahle and the Bekaa Valley.
