Chnaniir Nature Reserve

Chnaniir Nature Reserve, محميه شننعير in Arabic, is a captivating natural escape nestled in the Keserwan District of Lebanon. Established in 2010, the reserve spans 27 hectares of communal land near Chnaniir village, offering a blend of biodiversity and scenic beauty. Situated on a hill, the reserve boasts panoramic views of Jounieh Bay and the surrounding mountainous regions.The reserve's altitude ranges from 500 to 850 meters, culminating at Hriq peak, providing a 360-degree vista. The landscape is rich with wild pines, oaks, and strawberry trees, creating a lush environment for hikers and nature enthusiasts. Three hiking trails of varying difficulty levels wind through the reserve, catering to both novice and experienced adventurers. Along the trails, visitors can observe a 19th-century dug well, once a watering spot for shepherds' herds.Chnaniir Nature Reserve is not only a place of natural beauty but also a center for environmental education and conservation.
