Car

If driving from Jounieh, head north on Highway 51 towards Chatin. Follow signs for Balou3 Balaa, turning right at the junction onto Balou3 Balaa road. Continue for about 5 minutes to reach the rest house. Parking is available on-site. Expect a 1.5 to 2-hour drive from Beirut.

Public Transport

From Jounieh, take a shared taxi or local bus to Chatin from the main bus station. The fare is around 2,000-3,000 LBP. Inform the driver you want to get off at Balou3 Balaa. From Chatin, walk 10-15 minutes to the rest house, following signs or asking locals for directions.

Walking

If already in Chatin, head towards Balou3 Balaa road. It's a scenic 20-30 minute walk. Follow the path through the local area, enjoying the natural beauty.

Balou3 Balaa Rest House, also known as the Baatara Gorge Waterfall or the Cave of the Three Bridges, is a stunning natural landmark in the Tannourine region of Lebanon. This geological marvel features a 255-meter (837 ft) waterfall that plunges into the Baatara Pothole, a Jurassic limestone cave. The cave's name comes from the three natural bridges that rise above one another, overhanging the chasm.Formed over millions of years through erosion, the gorge and waterfall offer a unique geological experience. The best time to visit is during the spring (March-May) when the snowmelt increases the water flow, creating a spectacular sight. The surrounding landscape is lush and green during this time, adding to the area's beauty.Visitors can enjoy hiking, photography, and picnicking in this tranquil setting. The area is easily accessible and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. It's a popular destination for both locals and tourists, offering a blend of natural beauty and geological wonder.
