Bchaaleh Trails Association is dedicated to preserving and promoting the natural and cultural heritage of Bchaaleh, a charming village nestled in the Batroun District of North Lebanon. Situated at an altitude ranging from 1,200 to 1,350 meters, Bchaaleh offers stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding mountains. The association has developed a network of seven hiking trails that wind through the village, showcasing its most famous attractions, including the ancient olive trees known as the "Sisters Olive Trees of Noah". These trees are believed to be among the oldest in the world, with some estimated to be around 6,000 years old.The trails vary in length and difficulty, catering to all ages and fitness levels. Along the way, hikers can discover historical landmarks such as the Al Hossen fortress, showcasing Hellenistic and early Christian architecture, as well as traditional Lebanese houses, churches, and monasteries. The Bchaaleh Trails project was inaugurated in 2018, with the aim of promoting sustainable tourism and creating job opportunities for the local community. The association also organizes various activities throughout the year, including full moon hikes, sunset hikes, and harvest picnic experiences.Bchaaleh itself is a village steeped in history and culture. Its name, derived from the Syriac "Beit Chaali," means "the place of glorification and adoration". In addition to its ancient olive trees and historical sites, Bchaaleh is known for its production of high-quality olive oil and traditional olive soap. Visitors can also explore the village's religious sites, including the Saint Stephen's Church, one of the largest in the Batroun region, and the Mar Doumit Monastery.
