    From Batroun, follow the road towards the Cedars. Turn off towards Qnat, then follow the signs to Hardine. The village is accessed by a single road. Parking is available in the village center. Be aware that the roads can be narrow and winding.

    Taxis can be hired from Batroun to reach Hardine. Negotiate the fare before starting the journey. A one-way trip should cost approximately 30,000-50,000 LBP, depending on the taxi company and your negotiation skills.

Sama Hardine invites you to explore a village steeped in history and religious significance. Located in the Batroun mountains, Hardine is believed to be the first village in Mount Lebanon to embrace Christianity. Its name, derived from Syriac, means "pious".Explore the village's remarkable architectural heritage, with over 30 churches and monasteries, some dating back to medieval times. Among them are the historic convent of Mar Faouqa (6th century), the monastery of Mar Youhanna el-Chaqf with its 12th-century hermitage, and the convent of Mar Sarkis el-Qarn (12th century).Don't miss the Roman Temple of Mercury, a testament to the village's pre-Christian past. Built during the reign of Emperor Hadrian Augustus (117-137 A.D.), the temple features 30 majestic pillars in the Ionic style.Hikers and nature enthusiasts will find themselves at home in Hardine, with numerous trails offering varied sceneries, forests, plains, and cliffs. A section of the Lebanon Mountain Trail (LMT) also passes through the village.Hardine is also the birthplace of Saint Nimatullah Kassab Al-Hardini (1808-58), one of Lebanon's four saints. You can visit the church dedicated to him and his parental home.
