Getting There

  • Foot

    Start at the center of Butha-Buthe, near the Butha-Buthe Market. Head east on the main road, which is called 'Mokhotlong Road'. Walk for approximately 1 kilometer until you reach a junction. At the junction, take the left turn onto 'Maseru Road'. Continue walking for about 2 kilometers. You will pass by several local shops and houses. Keep an eye out for signs pointing towards Leribe, as this will help you stay on track. After walking for 2 kilometers, you will reach another junction. Here, turn right onto an unpaved road that leads towards Leribe. The road may be a bit rough, so be cautious. Continue walking along this path for about 3 kilometers. You will eventually see a sign for the Leribe Dinosaur Footprints on your right. Follow the sign, and you will arrive at the site.

    From the center of Butha-Buthe, walk to the minibus taxi rank located near the Market. Look for a minibus that is heading towards Leribe. The fare is usually inexpensive, and the journey takes around 30 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Leribe, ask the driver to drop you off at the closest point to the Leribe Dinosaur Footprints. From there, you may need to walk approximately 1 kilometer along an unpaved road, following any directions or signs you see along the way.
