    Getting There

    Driving

    From Bergville, take the R74 towards the Mnweni Cultural Centre. After approximately 18km, turn onto a dirt road and follow it for another 17km to the centre. The road is generally accessible by standard vehicles, but a 4x4 may be preferable in wet conditions. Parking is available at the Cultural Centre. There is no cost for parking.

    Hiking

    All hikes to Mnweni Pass start from the Mnweni Cultural Centre. From the centre, follow the path up the Mnweni valley towards the pass. The distance to the base of the pass is approximately 15km. The ascent to the top of the pass is a further 1.5km with an altitude gain of 900m. Permits are required for overnight hiking and can be purchased at the Cultural Centre. Permits cost R60 per person per night.
