PHP Unification Park Travel Guide

PHP Unification Park, also known as Liberia Unification Park, is a recreational complex in Monrovia. It stands on the grounds where 13 government officials of the Tolbert administration were executed following the 1980 military coup. The park serves as a place of remembrance and a symbol of national unity and reconciliation.The park includes sports facilities such as football fields, basketball and volleyball courts, and a kickball field. There is also a gym, a playground for children, and a café. A memorial monument marks the location where the executions took place.PHP Unification Park was jointly funded by the governments of Liberia and the United Arab Emirates. It was dedicated in December 2023. The park is intended to promote harmony among all residents, regardless of their backgrounds. It offers a space for sports, relaxation, and reflection on Liberia's history.
