PHP Community Park, also called Unification Park or Unification Square, is a modern recreational space in Monrovia, Liberia. Inaugurated in December 2023, the park was built on a site with a dark past, where 13 government officials were publicly executed during the 1980 military coup. Today, it stands as a symbol of national unity and urban revitalization.
The park features sports facilities including football fields, basketball and volleyball courts, and a kickball field. It also includes a children's playground, an outdoor gym, and a café. A key feature is the monument with four pillars, each bearing a pole, to honor the executed officials. The park hosts cultural events, local markets, and community gatherings. It's open daily from 5:30 AM to 10:30 PM, offering a serene atmosphere for relaxation and recreation.
