Klibühni Chur: Intimate Theater in Chur's Old Town

Klibühni Chur, whose name translates to "small stage" in the local dialect, is a cultural gem located in Chur's historic Old Town. Founded in 1974, the theater emerged from the vibrant cultural scene of the 1970s, aiming to provide a platform for young artists and promote cabaret and other forms of Kleinkunst (small-scale performing arts). The Klibühni also played a role in the origins of the Churer Fest, a popular festival in Chur. Located at Kirchgasse 14, right next to the Antistitium, the Klibühni has been a fixture in the city's cultural landscape for decades. The theater is known for its diverse program, which includes plays, cabaret, children's theater, puppet shows, readings, and concerts. Each year, the Klibühni stages around 70 performances, showcasing both guest performances and its own productions, with a focus on local artists. Adding to its appeal, the Klibühni also runs the Höfli-Beiz, a summer restaurant offering high-quality food and wine alongside a cultural program. This combination of culinary delights and artistic performances creates a unique and inviting atmosphere for visitors.
