The best way to explore Appenzell's town center is on foot. From the Appenzell train station, walk north towards the main street (Hauptgasse), which leads directly into the heart of town. The walk is approximately 5 minutes and takes you past the church and town hall. The town center is car-free, making it pedestrian-friendly.
Taxi
Taxis are available in Appenzell, particularly near the train station. A short taxi ride from Sammelplatz Station to Appenzell (approximately 3 km) costs around CHF 20-24. Taxis can be useful for reaching accommodations outside the town center or for those with mobility issues.
Parking
