Getting There

• Walking

  The Lindauer Marionettenoper is located on Lindau Island (Insel), easily accessible on foot from most points on the island. From the Lindau-Insel train station, walk south along the main street, Maximilianstraße, for about 5 minutes. Turn right onto Fischergasse. The Marionettenoper will be on your left. Walking from the train station takes approximately 10 minutes. Note that the island is mostly pedestrianized, making walking a pleasant option.

• Public Transport

  If arriving by bus, disembark at the Lindau-Insel Bahnhof (train station) bus stop. From there, follow the walking directions. Bus fares within Lindau are typically around €2-3 for a single journey.

• Taxi

  Taxis are available at the Lindau-Insel train station. A short taxi ride to the Lindauer Marionettenoper from the train station will cost approximately €8-12, depending on traffic.

• Parking

  If driving, parking on Lindau Island is limited and can be expensive. The closest parking option is Parkplatz Bahnhof Lindau-Insel P1, located next to the train station. Hourly rates are approximately €2, with daily maximums around €15-20. Parking is also available at the Blauwiese and Bauhof car parks, with a signposted walk to the island. The P+R Parkplatz Reutiner Bahnhof is located a 15-20 minute walk from the island. Consider parking on the mainland and walking or taking public transport to the island, especially during peak season.
