Once you reach Kaunas, follow the signs for the city center (Centras). Continue on Maironio Street until you reach Pilies Street. Kaunas Castle is located at Pilies g. 17, just a short distance from the main square, where you can find parking options nearby, although there may be a parking fee.
Public Transportation - Bus
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Aukštaitija to Kaunas. Buses are available from towns like Anykščiai and Utena, and you can check for schedules on the local transportation website. The bus ride typically takes about 1 to 2 hours. Upon arriving at the Kaunas Bus Station, exit and walk towards the city center. Follow Laisvės Alėja straight to the main square, then turn left onto Pilies Street to reach Kaunas Castle at Pilies g. 17.
Public Transportation - Train
Alternatively, you can take a train from towns such as Utena or Panevėžys to Kaunas. Train schedules are available on the Lithuanian Railways website. The train journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at the Kaunas Train Station, exit and walk towards the city center. From there, you can walk to Kaunas Castle by following the same route as mentioned above: head to Laisvės Alėja, then left onto Pilies Street.
