Getting there

Car

Starting from Nida Beach, head north on the main road (A13) towards Klaipėda. Continue for approximately 32 kilometers until you reach Kretinga. In Kretinga, follow the signs to Kartena (Kartenos) and take the local road (Kretinga-Kartena road). After around 12 kilometers, you will arrive at Kartena hillfort, located at 2222, 97346 Kretingos r. sav. There is parking available nearby.

Public Transportation

From Nida Beach, catch a bus to Klaipėda. Buses run regularly, and the journey takes about 1 hour. Once in Klaipėda, transfer to a bus heading to Kretinga. This leg of the journey will take around 30 minutes. After reaching Kretinga, you will need to take a local taxi or arrange for a local bus to Kartena hillfort, which is about 12 kilometers away. Be aware of the local taxi costs, and confirm the fare before starting your ride.

Bicycle

For the more adventurous travelers, renting a bicycle in Nida Beach is an option. You will take the same route as the car, cycling north on the A13 towards Kretinga. The total distance is approximately 44 kilometers, so ensure you are prepared for a lengthy ride. Once you reach Kretinga, continue towards Kartena hillfort, which is an additional 12 kilometers. The ride is scenic, but be cautious of traffic, especially on the main roads.
