Getting there

Car

If you're driving from any location in the Lithuanian Seaside, take the A1 highway towards Vilnius. Continue on the A1 until you reach the exit for Trakai (approximately 30 km). Follow the signs to Trakai, and once you enter the town, look for signs directing you to Trakai Island Castle. You will need to park your car at one of the designated parking areas near the castle. Note that parking may incur a fee, so be prepared with some cash or a card.

Public Transportation - Bus

From major towns along the Lithuanian Seaside, you can take a bus to Trakai. Check the bus schedules at the local bus station or online. Most buses will take you to the Trakai bus station, which is about a 20-minute walk from Trakai Island Castle. Once you arrive at Trakai bus station, exit and head towards the lake, following the signs for Trakai Island Castle. The walk is scenic and will lead you directly to the castle's entrance.

Public Transportation - Train

If you prefer traveling by train, you can take a train from towns along the Lithuanian Seaside to Vilnius. From Vilnius, switch to a local train that goes to Trakai. The train ride from Vilnius to Trakai takes about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Trakai train station, you can either walk (approximately 30 minutes) or take a local bus/taxi to the castle. The bus stop is right outside the train station.
