Getting There

Car
From Trakai Island Castle, exit the castle grounds and head towards the main road, which is roughly a 5-minute drive. Turn left on the main road (A16) and continue for about 3 km until you reach the sign for Varnikai Nature Trail. Turn right onto Unnamed Rd. Follow the road for about 1 km until you see the entrance to the Varnikai Nature Trail on your right. There is no entry fee for the trail, but ensure you park in designated areas.

Public Transportation
From Trakai Island Castle, walk to the Trakai bus station located about 1 km away. Take the bus heading towards Vilnius and ask the driver to drop you off at the Varnikai stop (Varnikai stotelė). The bus ride takes approximately 10-15 minutes. Once you get off, walk back along the road for about 500 meters, and you will find the entrance to the Varnikai Nature Trail on your left. Note that the bus fare is around €1.50.

Walking
If you prefer to walk, you can reach Varnikai Nature Trail from Trakai Island Castle on foot. It is a scenic route approximately 4 km long. Exit the castle grounds and head towards the main road, then follow the A16 road heading towards Vilnius, and keep walking for about 45 minutes to 1 hour. As you approach the Varnikai area, look for signs indicating the trail entrance on your right. Remember to wear comfortable shoes and bring water for the walk.
