Getting There

    From LSU South, start by heading north on S. Stadium Dr. towards the intersection with W. Chimes St. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Highland Rd. Cross Highland Rd and continue straight onto N. Oak Hills Pkwy. You will find BREC's Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center at 10503 N Oak Hills Pkwy on your left. The walk is approximately 1.5 miles and should take around 30-35 minutes.

  • Public Transportation - Bus

    If you prefer public transportation, walk to the nearest bus stop at the intersection of S. Stadium Dr and W. Chimes St. Take the Capital Area Transit (CATS) Bus Route 1 towards the Mall of Louisiana. Get off at the stop near the intersection of N. Oak Hills Pkwy and Perkins Rd. From there, it’s a short 10-minute walk to BREC's Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center, located at 10503 N Oak Hills Pkwy. Please check the bus schedule for the exact timings and potential costs, which are generally around $1.25 per ride.

    If you have access to a bicycle, you can easily ride from LSU South to BREC's Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center. Head east on W. Chimes St. to Highland Rd, then head south on Highland Rd. After about 1 mile, turn left onto N. Oak Hills Pkwy. The nature center will be on your left after about half a mile. The biking distance is approximately 2 miles, which should take about 10-15 minutes.
