Getting There

Car
To reach the Atchafalaya National Wildlife Refuge from Bayou Teche, start by heading northwest on LA-86 N. Continue on LA-86 N for about 10 miles until you reach the junction with US-90 W. Take the ramp to merge onto US-90 W and continue for approximately 15 miles. Take the exit onto I-10 W toward Baton Rouge. After about 25 miles, take exit 139 for LA-190 toward Lottie. Merge onto LA-190 and continue for approximately 5 miles. The refuge entrance will be on your right at Highway 190 & Interstate 10, Lottie, LA 70756. There are no tolls along this route.

If you prefer public transportation, you can take a Greyhound bus from Bayou Teche to Baton Rouge, which typically costs around $25. From Baton Rouge, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to Atchafalaya National Wildlife Refuge. This taxi ride will be approximately 45 minutes and could cost around $50-$70 depending on the service. Please check the bus schedules as they may vary, and it’s recommended to book in advance.
