Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from the French Market, exit the market and head northwest on Decatur Street. Continue walking for about 0.4 miles (approximately 10 minutes). You will pass several shops and cafes. As you approach the end of Decatur Street, cross over to Chartres Street and continue walking until you reach Jackson Square, which will be on your right.

    From the iconic St. Louis Cathedral, simply walk through the square towards the park. Jackson Square is directly adjacent to the cathedral, so you will find yourself in the heart of the square in just a minute.

    Starting from the Historic Voodoo Museum, exit the museum and walk south on Chartres Street for about 0.3 miles (approximately 7 minutes). You will reach Jackson Square after passing by some beautiful historic buildings and shops. The square will be on your left.

    If you're at the Canal Street area, catch a streetcar on the Canal Street line heading towards the river. Get off at the St. Charles Streetcar stop. From there, walk about 0.5 miles (approximately 12 minutes) down St. Charles Avenue, then turn right onto Chartres Street. Continue walking until you reach Jackson Square on your left.

    From the Royal Street, walk towards the Mississippi River. As you reach the river, take a left on Decatur Street, and continue for about 0.2 miles (approximately 5 minutes). Jackson Square will be on your left, just past the intersection with St. Ann Street.
