Walking
From the center of Echternach, head towards the main road (Rue du Marché). Turn left onto Rue de la Gare and continue walking straight until you reach the train station. From there, take the train to Trier. The train ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Trier's main train station, exit the station and head towards Kaiserstraße. Follow Kaiserstraße straight until you reach the Porta Nigra, a famous Roman city gate. From there, continue walking straight along the road, passing by the many shops and cafes until you reach the Alter Kran, which is located near the Moselle River.
Public Transport
Start at the Echternach bus station (Gare Routière d'Echternach) and take a bus towards Trier. The bus service is provided by the RGTR. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Trier, get off at the Hauptbahnhof (main train station). From the station, walk towards the city center, following the signs towards the Porta Nigra. Once you reach the Porta Nigra, continue along the main pedestrian street until you arrive at the Alter Kran, located by the Moselle River.
