Often, the only sounds are the chirr of woodland birds and the distant gurgle of river rapids as you traverse narrow ridges, ancient beech forests, and moss-clad rock formations known as 'leeen.' The trail is typically completed over two or three days, with guesthouses and small hotels offering shelter in villages like Hoscheid and Goebelsmuhle.
