Train
To reach Alter Kran in Trier from Luxembourg City, start by heading to the Luxembourg City train station (Gare de Luxembourg). You can get there by walking or taking a bus to the station. Once at the train station, purchase a ticket to Trier. Trains run frequently, so check the schedule for the next available train. The journey to Trier typically takes about 30-40 minutes. Upon arrival at Trier train station, exit the station and head towards the main road. Follow the signs for the city center (Stadtmitte) and walk straight down Kaiserstraße. Continue walking until you reach the Moselle River; Alter Kran is located along the riverbank.
Bus
You can take a bus from Luxembourg City to Trier. Start at the central bus station (Gare routière). Look for buses heading to Trier. The journey takes about an hour. Once you arrive in Trier, get off at the main bus station. From there, walk towards the city center by heading down the main street until you reach the Moselle River. Alter Kran is situated along the riverbank, and you should see it when you reach the water.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Luxembourg City. Start at any bike rental location and head towards the Pétrusse valley, following the bike path signs. As you enter Trier, look for signs directing you to the city center. Once in the city, navigate towards the Moselle River; Alter Kran is located along the riverbank.
