From anywhere in the Moselle Valley, head towards the A1 motorway and take the exit towards Luxembourg City (Luxembourg-Ville). Follow signs for the city center (Centre Ville). Once in the city, follow Route d'Arlon and then take Avenue de la Liberté. Continue onto Boulevard F. D. Roosevelt and then take a left onto Rue de l'Ancien Port. Follow this road until you reach Rives de Clausen. Fort Thüngen will be on your left side at Rives de Clausen, 1499 Clausen Lëtzebuerg. Parking is available in the nearby areas, but may incur a fee.

If you are traveling by train, take a train to Luxembourg City from any station in the Moselle Valley. Once you arrive at Luxembourg City train station, exit the station and head to the bus terminal. Take bus line 1 or 16 towards 'Luxembourg, Hamilius'. Get off at the stop 'Luxembourg, Hamilius'. From there, it's about a 15-minute walk. Head down Avenue de la Liberté, turn left onto Boulevard F. D. Roosevelt, and then left onto Rue de l'Ancien Port. Continue to Rives de Clausen where you will find Fort Thüngen.
