If you are traveling by car, start in the center of Antananarivo. Head east on Avenue de l'Indépendance, then take the Route Nationale 1 (RN1) towards Andohalo. Follow the RN1 for approximately 10 kilometers, then take a left onto Route de Mandroseza. Continue on this road for about 4 kilometers until you reach Lac Mandroseza. Be aware that parking may be limited near the lake.
Public Transportation - Taxi-Brousse
To reach Lac Mandroseza via taxi-brousse, go to the main taxi-brousse station in Antananarivo, known as 'Gare Routière de Soarano'. Look for a taxi-brousse heading towards Andohalo. The fare is usually around 1,000 to 2,000 Ariary (approximately $0.25 to $0.50). Once you arrive in Andohalo, you will need to walk approximately 1 kilometer to reach the lake. Ask locals for directions if needed.
Public Transportation - Bus
You can also take a local bus from the center of Antananarivo to Andohalo. Look for buses labeled 'Andohalo' at the bus stop. The bus fare is typically around 500 Ariary (about $0.15). After disembarking in Andohalo, walk approximately 1 kilometer to Lac Mandroseza. Again, locals can help guide you if you're unsure of the path.
Walking
If you are close enough to Lac Mandroseza in Andohalo, you can simply walk to the lake. Just make sure to follow the main road signs pointing towards 'Mandroseza' or ask locals for assistance. The walk should take around 15-20 minutes depending on your starting point.
