From the main entrance of Ankarafantsika National Park, head south on the Route Nationale 4 (RN4) towards Mahajanga. Continue for approximately 60 kilometers. Look for signs indicating 'Mangarivotra' as you approach Mahajanga. You will need to take a right turn onto a smaller road (often unpaved) leading into the village. VINAGNIN-DRANO VILLAGE is located at the coordinates 78R3+WH7, which should be visible on your GPS. Be cautious of road conditions, as some areas may be rough.

To reach VINAGNIN-DRANO VILLAGE using public transportation, first take a taxi-brousse (shared minibus) from the main taxi-brousse station in Ankarafantsika National Park to Mahajanga. The fare is usually around 15,000 Ariary (approximately 4 USD). Once in Mahajanga, look for a local taxi-brousse heading towards Mangarivotra. Inform the driver of your destination, VINAGNIN-DRANO VILLAGE, and they will drop you off as close as possible. Expect to pay around 5,000 Ariary (approximately 1.50 USD) for this leg of the journey. Keep in mind that the taxi-brousse may not drop you directly at the village, so be prepared to walk the last part.
