Getting There

• Car

  Start from the center of Antananarivo. Take Avenue de l'Indépendance and head east towards Avenue Général Ramanantsoa. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenue de l'Université. Turn left onto Avenue de l'Université and follow the road until you see the signs for Rovan' Ambohimanga. It's approximately a 30-minute drive from the city center. There may be parking available near the entrance.

• Public Transportation - Taxi-Brousse

  From the central taxi-brousse station in Antananarivo (Gare Routière de Soarano), take a taxi-brousse heading towards Ambohimanga. The fare is typically around 1,500 to 2,000 Ariary. The ride will take approximately 45 minutes. Inform the driver of your destination to ensure you are dropped off at the correct stop. From the drop-off point, it may be necessary to walk about 15 minutes to reach Rovan' Ambohimanga.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  Catch a local bus from Antananarivo heading towards Ambohimanga. The bus departs from the main bus station and costs about 1,000 Ariary. The journey may take around 1 hour, depending on traffic. Once you reach the Ambohimanga area, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to Rovan' Ambohimanga, which is about a 20-minute walk from the bus stop.

• Walking

  If you are already in the Ambohimanga area, Rovan' Ambohimanga is accessible by walking. Follow the signs towards the Rova, which is situated on a hill. The walk may take around 30 minutes from the nearest public transport drop-off point, and make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the path can be steep.
