Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the city of Toliara (Tuléar), which is the closest major city to Isalo National Park. From Toliara, take the RN7 highway heading northeast. The drive will take about 4 to 5 hours. Keep an eye out for signs pointing to Isalo National Park as you approach the town of Sakamalio, where the park is located. Once you reach Sakamalio, follow the signs to the park entrance. Note that you may need to pay an entrance fee, which is typically around 65,000 MGA (Malagasy Ariary). Make sure to have cash on hand for this.

Public Transportation
For public transportation, take a taxi-brousse (shared minibus) from Toliara to Sakamalio. The ride usually costs around 15,000 MGA and takes approximately 5 hours, depending on stops along the way. Once you arrive in Sakamalio, you can either walk to the park entrance, which is about 3 km away, or hire a local taxi for a short ride. Be prepared to pay the taxi driver around 10,000 MGA for the trip to the entrance. Also, make sure to confirm the taxi-brousse schedule in advance, as they may not run frequently.
