Getting There

  • Car

    From the center of Mahajanga, head south on Avenue de l'Independence towards Avenue Charles de Gaulle. Continue straight for about 5 km until you reach the fork in the road. Take the right fork onto Route Nationale 4 (RN4) and continue for approximately 25 km. You will see signs for CIRQUE ROUGE. Follow these signs, taking a left turn onto a smaller road that leads directly to the location. Please note that the road may be unpaved in some sections, so drive with caution.

    Head to the main bus station in Mahajanga. Look for a bus or 'taxi-brousse' heading towards the villages near CIRQUE ROUGE. The trip may take about 45 minutes to an hour. Once you reach the nearest stop, you may need to hire a local taxi or arrange for a guide to take you the remaining distance to the CIRQUE ROUGE. Expect to pay approximately 10,000 Ariary for the taxi-brousse fare and around 20,000 Ariary for the local taxi.
