Car
Starting from the capital city of Antananarivo, head west on Route Nationale 1 (RN1) toward Tsiroanomandidy. Continue on this road for approximately 100 kilometers. Look for signs indicating the turn-off for Bongolava. Turn left onto Route Nationale 34 (RN34) and follow it for another 50 kilometers until you reach the outskirts of Bongolava. From there, you may need to ask locals for the best route to Village Mahavokisoa, as smaller roads may not be well-marked.

From Antananarivo, take a taxi-brousse (shared minibus) heading towards Tsiroanomandidy. The journey will take about 3-4 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive at Tsiroanomandidy, you will need to transfer to another taxi-brousse heading towards Bongolava. This second leg of your journey may take another 2-3 hours. Upon reaching Bongolava, inquire locally about transportation options to Village Mahavokisoa, as public transport may not go directly there.

Once you arrive in Bongolava, you can hire a local guide or take a motorcycle taxi (known as 'pousse-pousse') to reach Village Mahavokisoa. The distance from Bongolava to the village is approximately 10-15 kilometers, and it may take around 30-40 minutes depending on the road conditions. Always negotiate the fare before starting your journey.
