Walking
From the center of Fort Dauphin, head south towards Avenue de l'Indépendance. Continue walking straight for about 1 km until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Route Nationale 13 heading southeast. Follow this road for approximately 5 km until you reach the fork in the road. Take the right fork, which is signposted towards Ambinanibe beach. Continue on this road for about 3 km; you will start to see signs for Ambinanibe beach. As you approach the beach area, you may need to navigate some dirt paths. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions if necessary, as they will be familiar with the best routes to the beach.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle in Fort Dauphin, preferably near the local markets. Start your journey by cycling south along Avenue de l'Indépendance towards the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Route Nationale 13 heading southeast. Cycle along this road for about 5 km, enjoying the coastal views. When you reach the fork, take the right fork towards Ambinanibe beach. Continue cycling for another 3 km until you see signs indicating the beach. Be cautious of the dirt paths leading to the beach and ask locals if you're unsure of the route.
Local Transport (Bicycle Taxi)
Find a bicycle taxi (also known as 'pousse-pousse') in Fort Dauphin, usually available near markets or busy areas. Negotiate a fare with the driver to take you to Ambinanibe beach. The driver will take you south towards Avenue de l'Indépendance, continue to Route Nationale 13, and then take the right fork towards Ambinanibe. Ensure to communicate your destination clearly, and enjoy the ride while the driver navigates the local roads.
