Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Fort Dauphin, head east towards Avenue de l'Indépendance. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Route Nationale 13, heading towards Taolagnaro. Walk along this road for approximately 2 kilometers. You will pass several local shops and bakeries where you can stop for refreshments. After 2 kilometers, look for signs directing you towards the 'Hôpital de Taolagnaro' (Taolagnaro Hospital). The Baobab猴面包树 is located near the hospital, a short walk from the main road. Once you reach the hospital, you can easily spot the iconic Baobab trees in the vicinity.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Fort Dauphin. Start at Place de l'Indépendance and head east on Avenue de l'Indépendance. After about 1 kilometer, you will reach a roundabout; take the first exit onto Route Nationale 13 towards Taolagnaro. Continue cycling for approximately 2 kilometers. As you approach the Hôpital de Taolagnaro, keep an eye out for the Baobab猴面包树, which are prominently situated around the hospital area.

• Public Transport

  For those using public transport, find the nearest bus stop in Fort Dauphin. Look for a bus heading towards Taolagnaro. The journey should take about 15-20 minutes. Disembark at the stop near Hôpital de Taolagnaro. From there, you can walk a short distance to see the Baobab猴面包树. Ensure to ask the bus driver or locals if you are unsure about the stop; they are usually quite helpful.
