Turn onto the unpaved road leading into the park. It is advisable to have a 4x4 vehicle as the road can be rough in places. Public Transportation
To reach Andringitra National Park via public transportation, start by taking a taxi-brousse (shared minibus) from Ihorombe to Ambalavao. This trip typically costs around 5,000 Ariary (about $1.50) and takes about 1-2 hours. Once in Ambalavao, you will need to find another taxi-brousse heading to the park entrance. Confirm with the driver that they will drop you off at the Andringitra National Park entrance. This ride may cost an additional 10,000-15,000 Ariary (around $3-$4.50) and could take another 1-2 hours. Be sure to check the schedules as they may not run frequently, and plan your return trip accordingly.
