If you are driving to Fort Manda from the center of Ihorombe, head north on Route Nationale 7 (RN7) towards Mahavelona. Continue for approximately 40 kilometers until you reach the village of Mahavelona. Keep an eye out for the sign indicating the turn to Fort Manda, which is located at the coordinates 8GC4+VCJ. Turn left onto the dirt road when you see the sign, and follow it for about 2 kilometers until you reach the fort. Make sure to have a map or GPS as some signs may be limited. Parking is available near the fort.
Public Transportation
To reach Fort Manda using public transportation, you can take a taxi-brousse (shared minibus) from Ihorombe to Mahavelona. The taxi-brousse station is located near the town center. Inform the driver of your destination, and the fare should be around 15,000 MGA (Malagasy Ariary). The journey takes approximately 1-1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Mahavelona, you can either walk to Fort Manda (about 2 kilometers) or hire a local guide or taxi to take you there. Walking directions from the taxi drop-off: head northeast on the main road until you see the sign for Fort Manda, then turn left onto the dirt road.
